I am going to add some detail bits between the two main tracks to make it a bit dirtier…looks a bit bare at the moment.

An overview of the ballasting progress so far…

I still need to put an LED in one of the NJ International signals (the one with the black target), and I need to paint the target on the other signal (which is fully functional with an LED). I am hoping that the rumour from BLMA about their N scale modern signal bridge is true as that would work perfectly on this part of the layout…but will have to wait and see! In the meantime, I am using the NJ International signals for this section of track.

After a nice fry-up this morning (bacon, eggs, tomato & cappuccino in case you were interested ) I set to work on the layout again. This morning I test fit the fencing that will go round the whole layout. I am using Gold Metal Models etched-metal barbed wire fencing for the yard, and BLMA etched-metal fencing for other buildings.

It looks really realistic, and will look even more so when I get round to weathering it later on. Definitely worth looking into if you are looking for fences for your layout. Much more realistic than the net mesh and plastic-based fencing materials.
